What conditions do you treat?
Outside of crisis intervention medicine (ie. 911 type emergencies) Oriental medicine is capable of treating any illness, from the common cold to cancer.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies based on the physicians diagnosis and usually varies between 2-6 treatments with an average being 2-4 treatments.

What are the risks associated with acupuncture?
Outside of possible burning at the needling site, acupuncture, when done by an experienced practitioner, should have no risks.

How should I prepare for a treatment?
Relax! Your anxieties are far worse than the actual “needling” process. Having a light meal or snack prior to your appointment is recommended. It is not advisable to come in if you have not eaten all day.

What does the treatment feel like?
Most people find there acupuncture treatment to be little more then a series of tiny pin pricks. Acupuncture should never be exceedingly painful -- if it is, let the physician know right away.

What should I expect after a treatment?
After treatment reactions vary from immediate improvement to a slight intensification. Sometimes symptoms may get worse before improvement is noted.

Are Chinese herbs safe?
The term “Chinese” Herbs is often used to describe herbal formulas that may or may not have their origins in Chinese Medicine. Most prescription herbals are based on classical Chinese formulas or have their roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but are produced in the United States. Herbal formulas when used properly and prescribed by a physician are very safe. Remember many of the formulas have been around for over a thousand years.
